Connect on Your Terms — Here’s How

Modern hearing aids do more than amplify sound. They offer direct
streaming and intelligent features that keep you connected to the world
on your terms. Enjoy clearer calls, music, TV, and more, right through
your hearing technology.

Bluetooth® LE Audio

Bluetooth LE Audio is the latest wireless standard for hearing aids, designed for clearer, more stable streaming while using less battery power.

Hearing aids that support Bluetooth LE Audio can provide:

  • Direct streaming from most iPhone® , iPad®, and Android™ devices
  • Better sound quality and less delay for calls, music, and video
  • More efficient power use, with better battery conservation

Some hearing aids are also Auracast™-ready. Auracast, the next generation of Bluetooth audio, lets hearing aids connect to shared audio streams in public places such as airports, theaters, and lecture halls.

Not all Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids include these features. Many require a TV streamer or other intermediary device to bring TV audio directly to hearing aids. As technology evolves, including growing
availability of Auracast-enabled venues, streaming will be even more seamless.

Audio Looping

Audio induction loops are used in public venues and some homes, broadcasting sound directly to hearing aids or cochlear implants equipped with a telecoil (T-coil). Switch to the T-coil setting to hear presentations, performances, or phone calls with more clarity and less background noise.

Key loop-system benefits:

  • Reduces background noise for easier listening in busy spaces
  • No apps or pairing required — just switch to the T-coil setting
  • Simple access to live audio at supported venues

Not all hearing aids include a T-coil, but many newer models use Bluetooth® technology to connect wirelessly to phones and other devices, offering similar clarity and convenience in different listening environments.

FM Streaming

FM systems transmit a speaker’s voice directly to compatible hearing aids or receivers via radio frequency. These systems are popular in classrooms, auditoriums, and group settings where distance or noise makes ordinary listening challenging.

FM system highlights:

  • Clear speech transmission over long distances
  • Reliable sound in large or acoustically tough environments
  • Compatibility with many educational and professional setups

Not all devices include FM streaming. Digital wireless systems are increasingly available as alternatives, but both technologies offer proven improvements for group communication.

SMART Apps for Hearing Aid Control

Today’s hearing aid apps, available for iPhone and Android, let you:

  • Adjust volume, programs, and sound settings anytime
  • Use your phone as a remote microphone when needed
  • Monitor your device’s battery life for uninterrupted hearing
  • Quickly locate lost hearing aids for added security
